the brilliance and sparkle of this gem lies in its original purpose as use in lasers. YAG is a synthetic material developed in the 60s that has multiple scientific uses, mainly in optics/lasers. it’s super hard which makes it a great candidate for daily wear, even on your finger (hello cocktail ring) i’m not going to go into the science, because i don’t understand it, but i love a gem with a story and wearing something that you can say has scientific application. it’s a great conversation starter and this cut/shape is a total winner.
